Another reason to clean the pool furniture and the cushions is to remove chlorine and pool water. When you invest in poolside furniture you will want to keep it in good shape for years to come.

Reasons to clean the swimming pool furniture

  1. Clean the cushions. Grab a bucket add warm water and a tablespoon of dish washing detergent and a tablespoon of borax to gently clean the cusihions. You don’t have to use borax, but it will whiten the white parts of the cushions. Wear gloves to protect your hands and gently scrub the furniture cushions with a sponge. Let the solution sit for fifteen minutes, then host it off. Let the cushions thoroughly dry in the sun.
  2. Canvas this is an easy material to clean — even more so if it’s removable. Use the same cleaning solution from number 1, spray it onto the canvas, hose it off, let it dry completely.
  3. Plastic furniture can be easily with a mixture of warm water and three tablespoons of automatic dish washing detergent (this will have an agent that will help whiten the plastic. Apply the liquid with a sponge or a soft brush. Scrub away dirt and stains. Let the liquid stay on the furniture for 15 minutes. Hose off. Allow to dry completely.
  4. Colored plastic or resin furniture, use an all purpose cleaner mixed with water. Rinse well. Baking soda can be mixed with water and used to clean your plastic furniture.

If you find mold on any of the furniture or cushions when you’re cleaning it. Use white vinegar to help remove it. Use vinegar sparingly as it has the potential to bleach the fabric or materials.

Take time to weekly hose down the furniture and let it dry in the hot Arizona sunshine. This will keep dirt, debris and chlorine from settling in. At least monthly you will want to do the deep clean as will you want to deep clean it before you store it for the season.
